Meet the Team at Polyweld NZ

Harley started out as a directional driller, young, at age 16. He spent the majority of his career in Australia working on major projects for local councils and large construction companies, progressing up the ladder to become a drilling supervisor in 2010 at the age of 20. From there, Harley’s passion for the pipeline industry resulted in his moving into a managing role to start the pipeline company, UINZ, of which Polyweld NZ is a division.
Harley’s areas of expertise include water reticulation, drainage, directional drilling and tunnel boring.

Jeremy Couling
Operations Manager
Jeremy has over 20 years civil construction and pipeline industry experience and has proven himself to be skilled at engaging with clients and stakeholders to keep contracts running efficiently. A good problem-solver, Jeremy provides clients with cost-effective construction solutions and contract outcomes.
This includes going the extra mile to determine what is really wanted and valued, and using his wealth of experience in the industry to make sure this is delivered. He is has a proven track record in the financial management, staff training, HSQE, project management and strategic planning required for successful delivery of welding projects.

Kelly Baxter
Office Assistant
Kelly is an experienced office assistant a wide range of office administration skills. With her background in customer facing roles Kelly is an asset to the UINZ Team, not only does Kelly have a 10 years’ administration experience Kelly also brings a comprehensive set of skills in Customer Service.– she is a great listener and communicator and is an important point of contact with all of our clients.

Roddy Alves
Senior PE Welder
Roddy is a highly experienced welder with 20 years’ experience in electrofusion and butt welding of PE pipes in both New Zealand and Australia. He has experience across the full range of our construction contracts. This includes operational deployment of welding men and machinery, machinery operation and coordination with excavation, laying and backfill teams.
His extensive skills have been gained through deployment on large irrigation schemes such as the Ashburton Lyndhurst, Amuri and Kurow irrigation schemes. These projects comprise over 300km of welded PE pipe and associated fittings. This included hundreds of EF and butt welded lobster back bends, air valves, PRVs, sluice and gate valves, tees, shareholder offtakes and meters.

Jordan Tamatea
PE Welder
Jordon is a qualified PE Welder with experience in Water Infrastructure and Earthworks. Jordon is eager to learn and develop his skills and is a huge asset to the Polyweld NZ Team. Jordon is an excellent team player and is a fast learner who thrives to achieve excellent results.
Jordon has experience in Pipe Testing, General Labouring and Mechanical Fitting. Jordon is a hard worker and is motivated to train and develop his skill set.

Dean Ratcliffe
Senior PE Welder
Dean has almost a decade of varied experience in electrofusion and butt welding of PE Pipes across New Zealand. Dean understands the fundamental principles required in all aspects of PE pipeline supply, delivery and installation including PE welding processes. He has proven site and contract liaison experience with other contractors and stakeholders to ensure contract milestones and construction deadlines are met.
Dean is very compliance orientated and provides full implementation and management of our HSQE systems and reporting. He also proactively coordinates with other subcontractors, head contractors and the client or their Engineers requirements and specifications.

Simon Luke
Senior PE Welder
Simon is also new to our team, bringing lots of experience and skills from the gas industry, specialising in Electrofusion Welding. Simon handles the day-to-day running of one his welding site; involving all health and safety, quality Assurance and the installation and welding of waste and water pipelines. With a wide range of knowledge in PE Welding; this leads Simon to delivering strong project outcomes.

Connor Jenkins-McCaw
Junior PE Welder
Connor has recently joined Polyweld from a varied background of construction. He has joined our team as a Welder and we are excited to have him on board to help develop and grow the business whilst expanding his skill set. Connor develops strong relationships with clients to ensure a quality outcome. Connor is an extremely well organised and a hardworking key player with a passion to continue to build his knowledge in the PE Weldling sector.
